LAVENO AND CERAMICS
Since 1856, Laveno has been the epicenter of a highly important ceramics district, recognized worldwide for the high quality of its products and the artistic value of its decorations.
Designers of the caliber of Giò Ponti, Guido Andlowitz, and Antonia Campi have collaborated and directed the creative sector of Laveno ceramics over time.
Globalization processes have progressively eliminated industrial settlements.
The legacy of this centuries-old tradition is now preserved at the International Museum of Ceramic Design (MIDeC) in Cerro di Laveno, which keeps it current with exhibitions, competitions, and educational workshops.
